Based on voting tallied at the 2014 AK Chapter meeting in Juneau, the newest t-shirt in the Fishes of Alaska AFS series is the Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker! Men and women’s shirts will be available at the Homer meeting.

Designed by Karen Lybrand, who lived in Alaska for 22 years before returning to her home state of Maine. Her designs can be found throughout Alaska, including logos for the Sitka Science Center and OceansAlaska. In addition to commercial work and digital graphics, Karen creates relief and intaglio prints as well as original works in many media. She has taught art at the community college level and also worked as an outreach art instructor in remote Native Alaska villages, isolated floating logging camps and Ketchikan public schools.  Her inspiration comes from things that she has seen, read about, or observed on a walk – all of which inform the next project.
